DAMA
The DAMA tab provides information on the eligibility of the selected occupation under various DAMA programs across Australia.
A Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) is a labour agreement that enables employers in designated regions to sponsor skilled and semi-skilled overseas workers for positions they cannot fill locally. These agreements are negotiated between the Department of Home Affairs and Designated Area Representatives (DARs), allowing regional concessions for migration requirements.
The DAMA tab offers a quick overview of available concessions, including:
- English language concessions
- TSMIT (Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold) reductions
- Age concessions
- Pathway to Permanent Residency (PR)
- Skills & Experience requirements
By using this tab, users can quickly assess DAMA eligibility for their selected occupation and understand the concessions available in each regional DAMA program.
Understanding DAMA Concessions
Depending on the selected occupation and DAMA region, certain concessions may be available, including:
Concession | Description |
---|---|
English | A lower English language requirement may apply under some DAMA agreements. |
TSMIT | A reduced Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) may apply for certain occupations. |
Age | A higher age limit may be allowed for PR pathways under some DAMA agreements. |
PR Pathway | Some DAMAs provide a pathway to permanent residency after meeting specific criteria. |
Skills & Experience | Requirements vary depending on whether the occupation is listed in the relevant skilled list and its ANZSCO skill level. |
Important Notes:
- Skills & Experience requirements depend on the DAMA region and the occupation’s classification on skilled occupation lists.
- Users should refer to the corresponding DAR website for up-to-date eligibility criteria and conditions.
- The table in this tab reproduces the official information from the DAMA Occupation Lists published by Designated Area Representatives (DARs).
- Any concessions not explicitly listed in the DARs' official publications (e.g., PR pathway for NT DAMA) are not included in the table.
- It is recommended that users carefully review the relevant DAR websites for the most accurate details on DAMA eligibility and concessions.
